A rough guide to SHARE Beirut

A rough guide to SHARE Beirut

Kifak everyone,

First of all, we hope you've already received your bar-code voucher and have it printed on a piece of paper or on your phone, ready to be scanned. If you'd like to contribute in minimizing cue line in the peak times, exchange it as early as today according to the schedule listed on the voucher. So, here's a quick guide for all SHARE Beirut attendees, just to make sure you feel like home as soon as you pick up your wristband.

SHARE Opening Party, Friday night at Solea V rooftop (7PM-4AM)
This is where SHARE Beirut will officially start. After opening 'Museum of Censorhip' as one part of the SHARE program on the ground floor at 7PM, party starts at 9 on a rooftop. Nice stage has been set up, and wide array of DJs will perform without marathon single style sets. Check out the Facebook event, and keep in mind that entrance for wristband holders is free throughout the whole night. If you want to bring someone else to the party, entrance is free until 10pm.

SHARE By Day
On Saturday 11.42AM the conference kicks off on Solea V Main stage with a premiere of short documentary filmed on last SHARE that took place in Belgrade, 6 months ago. Now traditionally, we are honored that Peter Sunde will give the first lecture, and this is something not to be missed. Speakers will have 20 minutes each, but then will be answering questions and joining panel discussions in emerging un-conference concept room on the other side of the ground floor. Various workshops and chill-out zone are on the rooftop, but don't worry because you won't make it to all the programs, most of the talks will be available to watch on demand after the conference, so try to interact as much: meet, mingle, ask and discuss.

Mezzanine is a place where participants may grab some food and drinks for affordable prices, but also charge their phones, laptops and gadgets. We won't be cooking, but proper sandwiches provided by Ghazl el Banet will be sold for 5000-7000 LL, and cold / warm coffee and soft drinks for 2-4k LL.

SHARE By Night
Saturday and Sunday nights will be full of performances and parties all around the city. Metro al Medina and DRM in Hamra will host bands and live acts, while Yukunkun, EM Chill and Radio Beirut in Gemmayzeh / Mar Mikhael will follow with DJ sets until early mornings. Again, nobody will make it to see all the acts, but this is another why this event is so festive, and why everyone should be studying the timetables and making their plans for the night.

General Information
Finally, weather forecast looks perfect. It will not be awfully hot during the day, and there will be no rain in the nights.

Find info on venues and maps on our website. If possible, walk or come by bicycle (yes, we love stunts), do car pooling and cab sharing. Some valet parking service will be available, but space is limited. Also, due to limited capacity and the fact that certain lectures or events will be crowded, visitors who come early will be given priority.

If there is anything else you need help with before we meet, feel free to ask: [email protected].
