After spending 8 years in advertising, Naeema Zarif took a leap into social enterprises offering expertise on conceptualization, and producing both off-line and on-line integrated media initiatives, including print, social web, audio, and film.
She is an enthusiastic supporter of open culture and creative commons, speaking and lecturing frequently at conferences and educational institutes, also contributing visual & digital strategic consultancy & training to various Governmental, Not for profit, and for profit initiatives around the MENA region.
Creative Commons is a non-profit organization headquarter in Mountain View, California, United States devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally. CC has created a set of free legal tools that provide a simple, standardized way to give the public permission to share and use their creative work based on the conditions of their choice.
In the past three years, the Lebanese CC Community has started to structurally gain momentum and actively co-create together both on a local, regional and multinational levels. The community is vibrant and diverse consisting of visual artists, photographers, musicians, NGOs, publishers each with his own story and journey with Creative Commons.
